Festival
was organised in the city from July 17.
Three of its most popular plays Saudagar , Chakravyuh and Draupadi, were staged during the fest.
On the first day, a large crowd gathered at the Sangeet Natak Academy to watch the play Saudagar , an adapta tion of William Shakespeare's Mer chant Of Venice.
Chakravyuh, staged on the second day , was the most awaited play as people of all age groups came to watch Nitish Bharadwaj in his famous Krishna avtar.
The last day's play Draupadi too witnessed a large audience. The play featured women belonging to a Haryanvi family bring out similarities between Draupadi and today's women. A musical drama, the double meaning dialogues and humorous description of Mahabharata elicited laughter.
