Pizza II “The Villa”

Pizza II “The Villa” – Audience will enjoy the movie if they go without any expectation. But “Pizza 2” Tag line has created the expectation. Audience will get disappointment if they compare Pizza 1 and Pizza 2. Pizza 2 "The Villa" is not a direct sequel of Pizza 1. Its a different story but, genre wise both movies are same (Thriller & Horror).  

 Plot of the movie was good; though it had resemblance of some Hollywood movies still this one was a good job, Scenes chosen for the movie was too dragging. Songs were not impressive.  Exorcism and evil revealing scenes were ordinary and very usual.   Story and its plot were perfect, it made to rethink all scenes and guess & discuss about the plot. If a story makes the audience to discuss and think definitely then director has won there. Really a good attempt  Apart from that there is no betterment in the script, could have been better if written as Novel. Not a great movie but still undoubtedly watchable when compared to (All in all alagzhu raja/Nayandi/Aramabam/Singam 2)

First half is slow and there are no scary scenes, but second half is a roller coaster ride. Debutant director Deepan Chakravarthy R has done a great work in scripting & Story telling. He has convinced the audience about the witchcraft with all logical & scientific reasoning. Minute detailing as impressive. He ll be a promising director in future.  Ashok Selvan has done a fabulous job.  Sanchita Shetty character could have been made more clarity. 

Strong attributes are Music, DOP and Editing.  Santhosh Narayanan music has added flavor to the Movie. Deepak Kumar Padhy DOP has enriched every scenes. Leo cut was too good. Hats off to Vijay Kumar for finding out new talented directors and giving the opportunity.  Ashok mannerism in few scenes was very similar to Deepan. Goods to hear Deepans voice in Later scenes to Veghan Rajesh.  

Casting and acting skills were deprived. Dialogues were comical and not justifying to the scenes.  Poor BGM and cinematography, No horrifying scenes and Graphics were customary

Overall Pizza 2 "The Villa" is a good movie. Pizza 2 tag line has created the hype for the Movie but, It disappoints the audience. “The Villa” could have been a better title.
Rating: 3/5  In-short: Fabulous plot in the movie, watch with less expectation.


  If we support these movie well it would make the directors to imagine or innovate new scripts though there were some failures. So it needs to be applauded at least for sake of tamil cinemas future.
