A BIG BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!
A handsome and smart hero, a sweet heroine, a great concept, amazing songs, the vibrant presence of Santhanam, and a Kozhikodan Arabic (Muslim)-Malayalam setting - what more is needed for a movie to be a hit? Unfortunately, even with all these elements, the much hyped and eagerly awaited (for me at least) Salala Mobiles turned out to be a drag.
Had gone with such expectations to watch it, but it never managed to fulfill its potential. There was hardly any scene in the movie which seemed complete...everything was just bits and pieces and the ending - totally unsatisfying and finished off with a narration.
Such a shame! Nazriya Nazim, Santhanam, the beautiful and heart melting songs, and the unique concept were the only elements that made the movie worth watching. Dulquer Salmaan wasn't really acting in the movie...he was just like a statue that kept smiling all the time. In fact, his performances in Pattam Pole and Neelakaasham...were much more fulfilling. When the movie gets over, you feel like having tried to satisfy your noontime hunger with a toffee!
Dulquer, you are an actor with such potential...pls pls look for roles where you have a great potential to show your acting skills. All your movies (except Ustaad Hotel and, maybe, Second Show) have one major flaw - they lack a definite structure and are more like a collage of unfinished scenes. Pls don't disappoint us again...and Nazriya, stay away from such crappy movies that don't live up to your potential.
If you are being tempted to watch this after listening to the melodious songs, don't make that mistake...listen to the songs on YouTube and stay at home...watch it when telecasted on TV
