The sacred portals of Badrinath shrine will be thrown open for devotees in the wee hours on May 5, after a five-month winter break. The auspicious day and hour to reopen the gates of the shrine was announced today by Pandit Acharya Krishna Prasad Uniyal on the occasion of Basant Panchmi at the erstwhile palace of the Tehri royals located at Narendranagar.
